Unboxing

Opening up the DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller Hood, you will be greeted with 2 things. This includes the Mavic Air 2 Hood and a simple card to show how to mount the monitor hood. Installing the monitor hood is straight forward where the hood will clip onto the antenna of the controller and the cover has Velcro to create the shade. On the top of the Hood, there is Velcro which allows the user to fold back the Hood to allow easy access and viewing. 

Overview 

The DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller Hood protects the smartphone from in strong lighting conditions where the sunlight and glare can washout the phone screen, leading the pilot to fly "blind". This monitor hood attaches to the top of the controller on the antennae portion and covers the smartphone from the top and sides.  

Why buy it? 

When flying in the summer sun, the sunlight and glare and "drown" out your screen, leaving you unable to see your livestream. Whilst increasing the phones screen brightness is an option, it can cause the phone to overheat and drain the battery. This can have worse downsides if the phone shutdowns due to overheating. Furthermore, running the phone at full brightness can damage the screen over time (some phones will warn about the peak brightness).
