Well this is certainly a surprise! Less than one full week into the 2023 calendar year, DJI have already teased their first product release of the year and we aren’t complaining. Let’s take a look at the teaser to see what could be coming next.
What Do We Know?
To our surprise, DJI definitely isn’t playing this one close to the chest. For the first in literal years, DJI has practically told us what we should expect next week.
Unlike other DJI teasers which give away next to nothing, this new teaser video quite literally shows the silhouette of a brand new gimbal and features the text RS3 _____.

If this isn’t an indication of a new addition to the DJI RS3 camera gimbal series, we don't know what is. Further, we can see the RS3 on the left and RS3 Pro on the right of the new gimbal. Does this mean a new smaller stabiliser akin to the first-generation DJI Ronin-SC? It sure looks like it, but we’ll have to wait and see!
The product release is scheduled for January 11 2023, so it looks like we won’t have to wait long to find out what’s coming. Time to get our wallets ready?
What is the DJI RS3 Series?
First making its way onto the scene in mid 2022, the DJI RS3 Series is DJI’s latest lineup of portable camera gimbals for videography and professional video work. Currently, the RS3 lineup includes the standard DJI RS3 gimbal and the larger professional-orientated DJI RS3 Pro, but by the looks of it, a third gimbal will be joining the RS3 family soon. What is DJI’s Latest Release?
The new RS3 gimbal will be DJI’s first release of the 2023 calendar year, but what did they release last? DJI Mini 3, that’s what! The latest addition to the DJI drone fleet, the DJI Mini 3 is a budget-friendly mini drone aimed at beginner pilots. The Mini 3 follows in the footsteps of other DJI Mini series drones by delivering incredible photo and video capabilities in a small drone form factor that’s ultra-portable and easy for all pilots to fly - even beginners!
