Got your new DJI Inspire 3 but don’t know whether to invest in the DJI Care Pro service plan? We’re here to help! We’re taking an in-depth look at the Care Pro service plan to see what’s included and whether it’s a worthwhile buy for you.
What is DJI Care Pro?
A new type of product service plan for DJI Pro product users, the DJI Care Pro coverage plan covers your DJI Pro product, in this case DJI Inspire 3 for free repairs and maintenance over a one or two year span.
DJI Care Pro shares some similarities with the DJI Care Refresh service plans that users of consumer-level DJI products will know and love. Just like Care Refresh, DJI Care Pro is designed to help pilots stay in the air longer by minimising repair downtime while providing great value to customers.

What’s Included with DJI Care Pro?
All Inclusive Repairs
Unlike the DJI Care Refresh program which offers drone repairs and replacements at a flat fee, DJI Care Pro offers users a coverage limit or pool to draw from upon each repair.
How does this work? Essentially, each time your drone is sent in for a repair, DJI technicians will assess the damage and diagnose the repairs required. Every different type of repair will have a predetermined value - the amount it would cost out of pocket with DJI Care - which is then subtracted from your coverage limit. This system allows you to receive multiple repairs in a calendar year, no matter how big or small the issue is.
This also means that minor cosmetic damage or single part replacements are not as costly as repairing water damage or internal components. Thus, the way your repair coverage is spend is entirely up to the different repairs you require.
Yearly Battery Replacements
One huge perk of DJI Care Pro is battery replacements. With Care Pro for DJI Inspire 3, pilots are entitled to two free battery replacements each year, allowing users to swap out a set of flight-worn TB51’s for a fresh new set. This is equivalent to over $1000 of value per replacement pair!
Yearly Factory Maintenance
Just because you haven’t had any accidents with your drone doesn’t mean it can’t do with a routine inspection and service. That’s why DJI Care Pro for the Inspire 3 includes a yearly factory maintenance servicing. This service includes a thorough test of your drone and components, fragile part replacement where needed in addition to an official maintenance report for your records.
Flyaway Coverage
Just like DJI Care Refresh, Care Pro coverage includes a highly discounted Flyaway drone replacement service. This means that in the unlikely and unfortunate occurrence of a drone flyaway, you can simply file a claim to have your Inspire 3 drone rapidly replaced with a factory-new model.
How much does it cost? With Care Pro, Inspire users can make one flyaway claim per year of coverage with a replacement excess free of $7500 AUD - significantly cheaper than the out-of-pocket cost of purchasing a brand new unit at retail price.

Is DJI Care Pro Worth It?
The all important question: is it worth it? Let’s do some maths…
The 1 Year Plan costs a mere $2599 AUD whilst providing a massive repair coverage limit of $15,000 AUD. Essentially, for every dollar you spend on the Care Pro plan, you’ll receive $5.70 worth of repairs! The 2 year plan offers even greater value with $6.10 worth of repairs per dollar spent.
While DJI Care Pro does present a significant up-front investment, it provides pilots and production companies with the peace of mind knowing that their drone can be fixed quickly when things go wrong. So yes, if you’re a professional pilot or filmmaker that relies heavily upon your DJI Inspire 3 for the work that you do, DJI Care Pro is defintiely a worthwhile investment.
