Introducing the Mavic 2 Enterprise
Mavic 2 Enterprise
The Mavic 2 Enterprise is one of DJI’s first professional modular drone and has been specifically designed to serve various industries with its accessories. These industries are; public safety, inspection, search and rescue, fire response and law enforcement. However, the limitations of this drone are endless, we are already seeing people think of different use cases for this drone. Being built on the popular Mavic 2 Zoom body, the specifications are very similar, the difference comes from the added modularity, features and accessories.
Roger Luo, the president of DJI has stated; “Mavic 2 Enterprise is the most compact, powerful, reliable and safe tool to help professionals integrate drones into their operations.”
Here are the stand-out specifications;
- High Resolution Camera with 2 x Optical Zoom
This camera has been praised by many different reviewers already for its incredible performance and flexibility with the optical zoom. The 12 MP camera is stabilised by a powerful 3-axis gimbal for smooth, stable footage/photos, perfect for analysing. The ability for Zoom allows for operators to fly from a safe distance to identify and inspect potential hazards, dangers and difficult areas. Many operators have stated that the Zoom has allowed their operations to become more efficient and effective.
- Self-Heating Battery
This new technology allows the drone to be flown in temperatures that reach -10 degrees, allowing for greater reliability in poor weather conditions, allowing for greater flexibility. This is perfect for operations were the climate is cooler or during the winter.
- Omni-directional sensing
The Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) allows the Mavic 2 Enterprise to sense and automatically avoid obstacles that are in front, below, above and behind it, providing additional safety—especially when flying in areas with obstacles or rugged terrain.
- Maximum Flight time of 31 minutes
The Max flight time of 31 minutes is ideal for all sorts of operations combined with the 8km transmission distance of a max flight time of 72kmph.
Mavic 2 Enterprise allows new DJI accessories to be securely mounted to the drone’s body and is operated through the flight control. Here are the modular accessories;
- M2E Spotlight
This dual spotlight has a brightness of 2,400 lumens (equivalent to a 160w incandescent bulb), which aids operators who are flying in dimly lit/dark conditions. The spotlight is ideal for search and rescues operations, inspections and also helps the camera gain footage/images with less noise and grain.
- M2E Speaker
The loudspeaker has a maximum projection of 100 decibels and lets pilots play up to 10 custom voice recordings on demand, providing a communication channel to nearby individuals that can be critical during life saving operations and can also effectively guide operators and workers across an operation.
- M2E Beacon
The beacon features a bright flashing strobe visible 4.8km away. This helps pilots carry out missions in low-light conditions or at night much more safely and provides additional airspace awareness for operators of nearby drones and traditional aircraft.
A Safer Drone for Your Enterprise Operations.
The Mavic 2 Enterprise has 24 GB on onboard storage, greater than the 8 GB offered on the consumer Mavic 2 series. This storage is safely secured through password protection, where the password needs to be inputted each time the drone is to be used. (remote controller must be linked to the drone).
GPS timestamping encodes the time, date and location of every recorded image, aiding pilots in accountability, and ensures that the data taken from the drone can be trusted and used in situations where this data needs to be reviewed, whether it be improving the efficiency or legal proceedings.
Furthermore, the Mavic 2 Enterprise includes DJI AirSense, which enhances your airspace safety by giving instant real-time positioning alerts on nearby manned aircraft. AirSense uses an integrated receiver to automatically alert drone pilots of ADS-B signals from nearby airplanes and helicopters, providing real-time positioning alerts through the DJI Pilot mobile app. This provides an extra level of safety and confidence for professional drone operators who fly in congested airspace or near complicated operations, such as bush fires, disaster recovery, and infrastructure monitoring.
If you are in any of the talked about industries (or have a use case for the drone) this would be the perfect drone for your operations. The flexibility and modularity are unmatched in the current market. In situations where every second matters, the Mavic 2 Enterprise is the perfect companion.
