DJI RS3 Mini is here and brings with it a variety of new and exciting ways to use a gimbal for content creation. Let’s take a look and see which cameras are compatible with the RS3 Mini to ensure that your camera is compatible before you buy.
What is the DJI RS3 Mini?
The latest Ronin to join the DJI Ronin series line-up, DJI RS3 Mini reimagines what a camera gimbal can do by shrinking it! Typically in the tech world, bigger is better, but that’s not the case with the ultra-compact DJI RS3 Mini which packs professional functionality into a small form factor. RS3 Mini is designed and optimised for on-the-go videographers and for social media content creators, weighing just 795 grams!

DJI RS3 Mini: Payload Support
As the first Mini entry into the DJI RS lineup, the DJI RS3 Mini switches things up in terms of camera support and compatibility. Traditionally, DJI Ronin series stabilisers support maximum payloads starting at 3KG. This rings true with the DJI RS3’s 3KG payload support and DJI RS3 Pro’s 4.5KG payload support.
However, with its lighter, more ergonomic design, the DJI RS3 Mini supports a lesser maximum payload of 2KG. This may not seem like much, however, this does not eliminate many high-quality, professional-grade cameras from being used with RS3 Mini. With major camera brands including Sony and Canon leaning more and more into producing portable mirrorless cameras, there is in fact a vast number of cameras compatible with the DJI RS3 Mini.

What if my camera isn’t on the list?
Don’t see your camera on this list? That’s okay! Chances are, if your camera weighs less than 2KG (camera body and lens included) and features a 1/4" screw for mounting the RS3 Mini’s quick-release plate, it will work on the RS3 Mini gimbal. Albeit, it may not have full functionality for features like zoom and focus control.
This compatibility list is by no means exhaustive and is consistently being added to by DJI as they test different cameras and as new models are brought to market. You’re more than welcome to try using your camera on the DJI RS3 Mini, however it's important to note that you will not be covered by DJI warranty if your camera is not officially supported by DJI.
