Yep! You read that right! The DJI RC remote controller first introduced earlier in 2022 alongside the best-selling DJI Mini 3 Pro is now compatible with the DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine. But how do you get your DJI RC to work with your Mavic 3 drone? Let’s find out!
What is the DJI RC?
Introduced alongside the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone series in 2022, the DJI RC remote controller is an all-new, fully integrated drone remote controller designed to take your flying adventures to the next level.
Featuring a built-in 5.5” touchscreen display, the DJI RC is engineered to help pilots experience first-class flight everytime they fly. Plus with extended battery life, support for O3+, an easy to use, lightweight design and so much more, you can’t go wrong with the DJI RC.

What’s so special about the DJI RC?
Built-In Touchscreen Display
The biggest and certainly most notable difference between the DJI RC and the standard DJI RC-N1 remote controllers is the massive 5.5” touchscreen display featured on the DJI RC controller. This huge touchscreen display features a maximum brightness of 700 nits and is both larger and brighter than most standard smartphone displays that many pilots commonly use.
Not only does this display make it easier to view your footage in glary sunlight, the size of the screen makes it far easier to view the details of each and every shot you capture.
Extended Battery Life
Not only does the DJI RC provide easier viewing and more tactile controls compared to the DJI RC-N1, it also provides an extended battery life of up to four hours. This means that you’ll be able to burn through an entire Fly More Combo’s worth of batteries and then some! This makes the controller perfect for those that charge their batteries but forget to charge their controller, chances are you’ll still have some juice left even after a few flights.
Get in the Air Faster
This is one feature you simply won’t find by scouring the spec sheet; the DJI RC provides a massive quality of life upgrade that significantly improves your general flight experience and massively speeds up take off time.
With the traditional DJI RC-N1, pilots must power on their controller, connect it to their smartphone, fire up the DJI Fly app and wait for it to start before finally connecting their drone to the controller. All of that, before take off.
The DJI RC makes it easy with a simple tap and hold to turn on and an ultra-fast pairing will follow, allowing you to get in the air with the literal press of a button.

How does it work with DJI Mavic 3?
Just like the standard DJI RC-N1 controller or DJI RC Pro, the DJI RC controller connects and pilots the DJI Mavic 3 drone via DJI’s ultra-advanced O3 image transmission technology. With two built-in antennas, the DJI RC is able to connect and receive high quality images from the Mavic 3 from up to 15 KM away!
Just make sure to update the DJI RC to the latest version of firmware available to ensure that your controller is compatible with the DJI Mavic 3 drone.
Does it work with any other drones?
Yes! The DJI RC was purpose-built for the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone and is the perfect companion for the Mini 3 Pro, providing a stellar, pro-level flight experience for a fraction of the traditional cost.
What about the DJI Air 2S?
Currently the DJI RC controller is compatible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mavic 3 and DJI Mavic 3 Cine, however many drone pilots are eager to see DJI bring out support for the DJI Air 2S. While it's not a guarantee, DJI does have a tendency to support customer wants by any means necessary, especially when consumer demand is particularly enthusiastic.
It should be noted that the bigger DJI RC Pro did not support the DJI Air 2S upon release, and later received firmware updates to add support. Will this be the same with the DJI RC? Only time will tell.
