A staple DJI drone accessory, the DJI Air 3 Battery Charging Hub is a new multifunctional accessory for DJI Air 3 drone pilots. The Air 3 Charging Hub is hands-down the most versatile DJI battery charging hub to date, offering more features and functionality than ever before. Let’s see what it can do.
The primary function of the Air 3 Charging Hub is, of course, battery charging. The hub sports 3 secure battery slots for charging up to 3 batteries together.
The charging hub does not charge three batteries at the same time like you might expect. Instead, batteries are charged sequentially, with the battery carrying the most charge being prioritised. This means that if you’ve forgotten to charge your batteries or are in need of a quick charge, you won’t have to wait long before you’ve got a battery that’s ready to fly.
Pair the hub with the DJI 100W USB-C Power Adapter for efficient power delivery. When paired with the charging hub, the 100W adapter can fully charge a single Intelligent Flight Battery in just one hour!
This new hub borrows a key feature from the DJI Mini 3 Pro Two-Way Charging Hub. The hub now features a USB-C power output port, allowing users to syphon power from the inserted batteries in a pinch to quickly charge smartphones, controllers and other devices. While this does drain the battery life of your batteries, it's super useful when you need to juice up your controller, goggles and accessories while out flying.

This feature is a first for DJI charging hubs and is certainly a function many pilots wish to see return on future iterations of battery charging hubs. When enabled, the Hub’s new power accumulation mode will intelligently syphon your lower powered batteries to charge a single battery.
What does this look like? Let’s say you have three batteries inserted into the charging hub and it is not connected to power. Battery A has 15% battery life, Battery B has 40% and Battery has 30%. In this scenario, both batteries A and C will intelligently discharge and redistribute their power to battery B. When this process is complete, you’ll be left with a single battery (battery B) with 85% battery life, rather than three batteries with minimal juice left to fly.
This new feature is ultra-convenient and is ideal for on-the-go situations where you want to squeeze in just one more flight.
And finally, the Air 3 Battery Charging Hub is the number one way to safely store your Intelligent Flight Batteries when not in use. The hub sports a mechanical locking system that firmly secures your batteries so they can’t escape while in transport, requiring a manual button press to release each battery. The hub provides the best way to safely store your batteries when not in use.
