DJI New Pilot Online Experience - DJI FLY - 29th of July 2020
On the 29th of July, D1 Store launched their first New Pilot Experience online with great success, nearly filling to capacity. The New Pilot Experience is a free drone class that runs every week and takes you through everything you need to know about the drone right from unboxing the drone for the first time. The New Pilot Experience is a highly regarded and awarded class where we see a large up take in sign-ups. We cannot thank you enough for attending and providing us with all the fantastic support.
The session's focus was the DJI Fly application, which is used by the Mavic Mini and the Mavic Air 2.

- Is the Landing Pad worth it and does it come with pegs?
Yes the Landing pad is worth it as it protects the bottom of your drone from any debris, dirt, sand from getting inside the drone or scratching the bottom of the drone. It can also act as a way to "catch" your drone during landing if you hold it up. Furthermore, it does come with pegs so you can peg it into the ground to ensure the pad does not flight away. - What Drones do you two (hosts) fly?

Thomas flies the Mavic 2 Zoom - Does the Mavic Air 2 use the downward visual sensor to help land?
Yes, the Mavic Air 2 uses the downward visual sensor to help land, it captures an image as it takes off to help record its home. If there is a landing pad or something contrasting, this really helps the accuracy when it lands. - When is the right time to use the auxiliary light on the Mavic Air 2?
The Mavic Air 2 will use the light automatically when it deems there is not enough light to help the sensors land. - What Mavic Mini and Mavic Air 2 Accessories do you recommend?

Whats your opinion on ND Filters?
Definitely needed to do high quality video work. It is important to get a high quality ND filter otherwise the image quality will drop and may experience chromatic aberrations.
