Drone newbies, if you've been edging to get into the drone scene but have no experience, skill and knowledge whatsoever this is your chance to start your piloting journey. There is no better time to get a drone with the release of the new DJI Mini 3 and no better drone to get than this mini but mighty, beginner level drone.
Get Your Foot In The Door
If you’ve never owned a drone before, it can feel like a pretty big thing. They’re not toys and do require a little bit of knowledge and common sense to own and fly one. But before you actually go ahead to make possibly the first drone purchase ever, you might be wondering what other options you have. And you're not wrong to think that because you do have a selection of options to go for as a beginner level pilot. The DJI Mini 2, Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro are all very suitable entry level drones, as firstly they all belong to the Mini Series which is perfect for convenience of transportation and because they all weight under 249g, so the last thing you need to worry about is needing to grab a RePL (Remote Pilot Licence). Let’s have a look at each model and how they differ.

Mini 2 / Mini 3
To be brief, between the Mini 2 and the Mini 3, obviously the Mini 3 is an upgrade from the Mini 2. Main differences are seen in the camera features where the Mini 3 sports a slightly larger sensor 1/1.3” CMOS sensor to enable greater image quality and detail. In terms of flight experience the same can be said where performance is slightly enhanced. The Mini 3 battery life surpasses the Mini 2 by default, but when used with its new high-powered Intelligent Flight Battery the Mini 3 can fly for longer with up to a whopping 51 minutes. This extended flight time is perfect for getting in that extra time new learners need to get used to the controls and functions

Mini 3 / Mini 3 Pro
Between the Mini 3 and the Mini 3 Pro, we see slight but significant differences as well. From camera features, safety features to creative modes, the Mini 3 Pro slightly outperforms the Mini 3 with enhanced and more PRO features avaliable like ActiveTrack, FocusTrack, Tri-Direction Obstacle Avoidance and APAS 4.0. However, flight performance reigns superior in the Mini 3 with a couple minutes extra flying time whether you're using the standard od Plus battery, compared to its Pro counterpart.
While the Mini 3 seems like a more simplified version of the Mini 3 Pro, what remains constant is the True Vertical Shooting, a signature feature of the Mini 3 series.
