DJI Avata is here! This new beginner-friendly FPV drone solution from DJI is already turning heads as it's spotted zipping through the sky. As always, a brand new drone brings brand new features so here are our five favourites.
Cinema-Ready 4K Camera
As is customary with all DJI drones, the DJI Avata comes with a cinema-ready camera that’s engineered to make aerial content creation a breeze.
1/1.7” CMOS Sensor
The DJI Avata sports the largest sensor found on a DJI FPV drone with a 1/1.7” CMOS sensor. This means that you can capture crisp aerial FPV footage with a pixel-dense 4K video resolution.
155° FOV
Not only is the DJI Avata capable of capturing show-stopping 4K/60fps footage, with an ultra-wide lens that sports a 155° field of view, but you can also make the most of every flight and fit an immense amount into every shot. This means that Avata features the widest FOV found on a DJI drone, plus it's the same ultra-wide field-of-view found on the DJI Action 2 action camera.
120 FPS Recording
Love the versatility of epic slow-motion shots? The DJI Avata can do those too! Capture super slow-motion clips that highlight movement and smooth aerial moves with 120fps recording in 2.7K resolution! Super slow-mo is great for showing off stunts and FPV flight tricks!

Advanced EIS
Zooming through the sky with a high-speed FPV drone can result in some pretty rocky footage, but not to worry, that’s where RockSteady 2.0 and HorizonSteady electronic image stabilisation come into play…
RockSteady 2.0
An upgraded and improved version of the original RockSteady stabilisation protocol featured on the DJI FPV drone, RockSteady delivers DJI’s most stable electronic image stabilisation to date. Designed to eliminate shakes and jitters from every shot no matter how big or small, RockSteady 2.0 delivers supersmooth footage that wouldn’t look out of place on the silver screen.
HorizonSteady
One element of FPV flying that is often difficult to manage is maintaining a level horizon as you zip through the sky at over 90 kmph. That’s no longer a worry on DJI Avata with the help of HorizonSteady, a new electronic image stabilisation algorithm that outputs shots with level horizons even if they’re not recorded that way.

It’s Super Easy to Fly
Flying FPV can be a daunting experience, especially for beginner pilots. DJI Avata makes things easy with the DJI Motion Controller, an innovative, intuitive controller for the DJI Avata that makes flying as easy as playing on the Nintendo Wii.
Designed to be operated with just one hand, the DJI Motion Controller offers a fully immersive experience where the DJI Avata responds to small hand gestures and makes flight feel completely natural. Want to turn left? Simply turn your controller to the left. Want to accelerate? Tilt the controller forward and you’ll be speeding up in seconds.
The Motion Controller is included with the DJI Avata by default in both the DJI Avata Fly Smart and DJI Avata Pro-View Combos. You can learn more about these two combos with our combo comparison guide here.
Prefer to fly with a traditional two-handed controller? The Avata is also compatible with the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 designed for flying in full manual mode.

Built-In Propeller Guards
With fully integrated, heavy-duty propeller guards, the DJI Avata is built to take a hit and live to fly another day. Unlike traditional DJI drones which feature fully exposed propellers that may be damaged or clipped when navigating tough corners or around obstacles, the DJI Avata’s built-in propeller guard makes the drone tough and durable. These propeller guards help keep your drone soaring safely and
The best part? These propeller guards are super easy to fix if you’re the victim of a hardcore crash. With an easy self-installation process, simply swap out your broken guard for a fresh guard frame and you’re ready to fly without having to see a professional DJI technician!
