What’s unique to each combo?
The primary difference between each combo is the goggles each combo comes equipped with. The budget-friendly DJI Avata Fly Smart Combo features the iconic DJI FPV Goggles V2 first introduced alongside the DJI FPV Goggles in 2021. The DJI Pro-View Combo comes with the brand new DJI Goggles 2, a spiritual successor to the DJI FPV Goggles V2 included with the Fly Smart Combo.
DJI Goggles 2 Explained
So why should you spend more for the newer goggles? That’s a great question. Let’s explore some of the new features of the DJI Goggles 2.
A More Comfortable Fit
Some pilots felt that the DJI FPV Goggles V2 did not provide the most comfortable fit for longer flights. DJI have addressed this issue with the new goggles by making them lighter, putting less strain on the neck and more padded, for greater comfort when worn.
Better Views
A massive new upgrade that users of the DJI Goggles 2 will get to enjoy are the new and improved micro-OLED displays embedded in the goggles. These new micro-OLED screens display 1080p HD footage for the first time ever on a pair of DJI drone goggles.

Which combo is best?
So if the goggles are the primary difference between the combos, which is best? Frankly, there’s no right or wrong answer and the option you choose will largely depend on your budget and needs.
One factor to consider is future proofing the investment in your gear. By opting for the latest generation of gear, in this case the Pro-View Combo, chances are your goggles will receive updates and be supported longer than the older DJI FPV Goggles V2. This means that the DJI Goggles 2 are more likely to support any future FPV drones DJI brings to market.
Budget is also another huge factor when picking a combo. If you feel like you don’t need the cream of the crop, the Fly Smart Combo provides a fantastic option to experience FPV without having to break the bank. Plus the money saved on the combo can always be reinvested into accessories to accompany your new Avata.
